Egypt Attestation Service - Academic Documents and Certificates
Legalising your academic documents at the Egyptian Consulate is now more complicated. Before we can attest documents they need to be verified with The Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau.
The Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau will contact the school, college or university that issued the document to check it is genuine. It can take several weeks.
This needs to be completed by you before we can attest any documents.

Attesting Academic Documents?
Academic documents being used in Egypt will need solicitor certification, the apostille and to be attested at the Egyptian Embassy.
We provide a complete legalisation service at the embassy once the Bureau has verified and stamped the document.

Academic Attestation for Egypt
When you have completed the verification with the Bureau we can legalise the document with the embassy
- Solicitor Certification - Our solicitor will certify and sign the document
- Apostille Certificate - FCDO apostille is added to the document.
- Embassy Attestation - The embassy stamps are added to the document
Your document MUST be stamped by The Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau in London BEFORE they are sent to us.
Most orders are completed in approximately 7-10 working days.
Attestation Steps Academic Documents
The Egyptian Embassy attestation involves 4 steps.
STEP 1 - You need to get your document verified/checked.
You need to submit your document to The Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau in London. They will check the document is genuine.
STEP 2 - The document must be signed by a solicitor.
Our solicitor will check the document and certify either the original or create a certified copy.
STEP 3 - We add the apostille.
The apostille is obtained from the FCDO Legalisation Office. This is attached to the certified document.
STEP 4 - We attest the document with the embassy.
The document is presented to the Egyptian Consulate in London to be legalised with their stamps.
Getting Documents Verified
If you have an academic document in the UK it needs verifying with The Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau in London.
Verificaiton of Academic Documents Process

In order to authenticate/stamp your academic document/s, the bureau needs to carry out a verification process prior to stamping the documents; You are kindly requested to provide the following (all compiled in one email):
- Complete Bureau's the Consent Letter and Hand Sign it.
- Provide a scan of the document/s you wish to authenticate/verify (Photographic or WhatsApp images of documents will be rejected)
- Provide a working email address for the contact person / department in your affiliation (i.e. university, college, school, etc) responsible for providing confirmation on the authenticity of your submitted documents; As this will facilitate receiving the needed confirmation for our verification process.
- Process the legalisation payment, - 50 GBP per stamp. (Transcripts are considered as one document); Payments should be sent via bank transfer on the bureau’s bank account stating your name in the reference section
Processing times will depend on the Bureau and the replies they require.
What does the Egypt attestation look like?
During the attestation service your documents will have the apostille certificate attached and embassy stamps will be applied.
This is normally done to the reverse of a document. However, the FCO and the embassy will attach these where they deem best.
The embassy use both ink stamps and stickers when attesting documents.
